the weekend before last, we west aussies were treated to another long weekend ...
my least favourite memory of the weekend is four thirty saturday afternoon ... which found me sitting in my car in the carpark at cockburn gateways shopping centre in tears having (for the first time ever) forgotten my purse ... ten minutes earlier, when i had arrived at the checkout, having finished my grocery shop, i realised that i didn't have my wallet in my bag and had to leave all my shopping (i realised before the operator had started scanning, so it all just went straight back into the trolley to be put back) ... living twenty minutes away, i didn't have enough time to go pick up my purse and be back before the shops closed ... my wonderful mum came to the rescue (and paid for my groceries so i could take them home) ... i never, ever, ever want to go through an experience like that again ... the staff were fantastic, but the customer behind me was not so understanding and just kept giving me dirty looks and those big awful sighs ... i kinda hope she gets a firsthand experience of her own one day ;) ... baby bear sat through the entire episode like a champ ...
on a much brighter note we had a great time joining in birthday celebrations and catching up with some old friends ... the highlight of the weekend for the bears was monday afternoon, when we headed here ...
... to fremantle oval with nan and grandad for the east vs south fremantle wafl derby ... we are south fremantle bulldogs supporters ... it made us smile listening to the boys cheering the team on: "c'mon kick it", "yeah, good one" and of course "go bulldogs" ... their favourite part of the game was heading onto the field during the quarter time and half time breaks to have a kick around with dad and grandad ...
i love long weekends :)
*hugs* about the purse - I can imagine myself doing the exact same thing ... the thought of having to redo a whole shop *ugh*
ReplyDeletei lost my credit card the day before we went on holidays to san antonio and had to cancel it - bit like dejavu as I did the exact same thing before we went to bali ...
i guess when siblings do similar things we can do nothing but blame the parents ;) ...
awww, you poor thing Alyssa! what an awful feeling when you forget something - especially something important!! glad the rest of the weekend was great!
ReplyDeleteI can only imagine how that must have felt. So glad your mum could come to the rescue.
ReplyDeleteOn the bright side, looks like you all had a fun time at the footy. The boys all sure look like they are in their element.
Love your blog btw :)
